STRAY offer an App 'stray mate' which you can use along your journey across the country. It is so you can book in to the accommodation they have to offer and the activities they provide. Each stop is unique and has different activities from kayaking at cathedral cove to horse back riding at blue duck station.
I got a flexi pass where it was valid for 12 months and I could hop on and off at any time and location. This pass was roughly $1000 NZD.
Tongariro National Park is on New Zealand's North Island. The park has 3 active volcanoes: Tongariro, Ngauruhoe (Mount Doom in “The Lord of the Rings" films) and Ruapehu. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing trail passes the Emerald Lakes and boiling mud pools, culminating at still-active Red Crater.
